The X-Files Season One

Back to year 1995, ( one of the best year of my life, so far ) I was in
form 5. Preparing myself for the SPM and the long and windy road
a head, everyday also worried about the SPM examinations only.

Exam years sucks!

Had not much of activities to do at small places like Kuala Krai, well
I suppose you could go =

1. Dancing ( at the Kuala Krai basketball court ?)
2. Clubbing ( Whops, no club at Kuala Krai )
3. Kara-Oking ( Yeah right Kara-Ok with my grandma? and there
was no Red Box or any Box like that )
4. Hunting ( sorry, no killing of animal allowed in my religion )
5. Mating ( oi ! crazy ah? pregnant how?)
6. Hibernating ( sleep till late morning on Friday <==Weekend )
7. Formating ( formating my friends 486 and Pentium 90 )
8. Installing ( installing Windows 95 <== In Diskette )
9. Re-formating ( Windows 95 didn't work well )
10. Re-installing ( Reinstall Windows 3.11 )

Well, it was quite boring sometimes, but on every Wednesday one
thing for sure was that we'll all disappear from Kara-OK, Club,
Mating , Hibernate cause we've had to watch

THE X-FILES !!

It always started at a dark night,
someone walk into the dark forrest or dark place of room,
and,
something or some shadow moved,
he/ she bacame panic,

Forensic examined the body,
Told the sherif / officer this is the strangest case,
Fox William "Spooky" Mulder appeared and said:" 1956 case re-run"
Dana S Scully said " Are you actually believing... bla bla bla.."

Then X-Files Music / Theme Played

You'll see the slogan " Government Denies Everything "
And at the end of the opening theme you'll see " The Truth Is Out
There !"

Well, that was how typically the show start, and compared to a
recent TV Series like CSI ( Gil Grissom ) , it was almost the same
procedure and stuff like that.

Well, why do we love it so much?

1. Fox Mulder was cute then.
2. Dana Scully was young then.
3. Alex Crycheck was innocent then.
4. Deep Throat was still around.
5. Walter S Skinner head was always shinning. He is handsome.
6. The standard FBI 1,000 lumince torch light. ( 3 kg at least )
7. Cigarrate Smoking man was still there.

All those char add up togather with the standard US slang was an
attraction to most of us.

Most of us back then could speak good English cause there was
no environment for us to do so. So what we did was after the
show, remember a few sentence and second day at school :

Me :" Hei Scully look at this dead cat body !"
Tan :" Mulder, i think some dog killed it !"
Me :" Let's run an autopsy on it and see !"
Tan :" Skinner is not going to happy if you run the autopsy in his room"
Me :" Ok let's do it in your room then !"
Tan :" Skinner's room is just fine, don't you think so?"

And after 1 year plus speaking using these slang we became pretty
good at it.

When we enrolled to TAR college in year 1996/1997 , to impressed
some girls, we actually spoke in US Slang and told the girls that
we were just back from US after taking Medic course.

Everybody bought our story. They really thought that we were
from the states.

Tan and Me in our heart :" Mission Accomplished !"

Besides in US Slang, were able to greet people in :

Acthung !
Argh Good Day Mate !
Oh Deer, what a horrable thing ?
Dee? Tambhi? How are you today dee? ( head twisting )

And one thing jack, I love English and Mandarin, do you?
