Naza Ria V6 2.5 Special Edition Test Driven by Philips..Updated

Yesterday I had to go to Penang again to close a few sales. This
time my Proton Wira got spared and I drove an MPV to Penang.

It was a light blue colour Naza Ria 2.5 L with V6 Quad Cam don't
know what technology. 2.5 Litter engine + V6 generally has a
very powerful output.... the pick up was so strong that I'd have
to keep telling myself, "gentle...gentle...gentle..."

One heavy step on the gas might end up this Naza Ria with 4
legs in the sky, errr... I mean 4 tyre facing the sky in long kang.

The initial pick up is very strong and the air cond is also very
strong. A huge car like this get cold very fast at noon time :)
It has front and passenger air cond system which could be turned
on and off independently.

The dashboard arrangement was OK with me, automatic 4 speed
with Hold button ( like overdrive ) is possition at the left hand
side of the steering at the dashboard...time = 1:02 pm lunch time

At the overhead of front seats is the sky window. You can open it
and smoke in your car ( Warning ! Smoking is bad for health )
without opening the side windows.

Problem with the sky windows ( Chinese Direct Translation ) is that
bird shits and stuff like that tend to fell into your car if you
leave it opened for too long. And don't kiap your child's head
with it ok? These are not recommended by the car manufacturer.

Well the drive from Kuala Lumpur to Penang took us about 3.5 hours
and the drive was smooth and fast.

As I've mentioned the initial pickup power is very good, but at
the highway when going uphill or want to do sudden car overtaking
the response was not fast enough and consistent enough.

The engine RPM kept changing and the engine roared too loud.

Perhaps because this car is still too new, hence I did not perform
a "pijak minyak sampai lantai" method. To overtake car at fast
speed with this MPV you've better ensure that the distance is
sufficient & prepare yourself for some loud engine roaring.

Pressed the Hold button below the Automatic Gear Level button
with somehow lock the engine RPM at the current highest RPM
and keep supplying you the power that you might need. However
of course the car will "Oh Balad " if you do this too much.

Drining in huge auto trans car at high way has these advantages :

1. You could relax in the car. Space is sufficient.
2. You could drive cruising way.
3. You could watch in car DVD.
4. You could smoke in the car with the "sky windows" opened.
5. Feeling steady. Not like smaller car which feels floating.
6. You'll drive at 130 or 140 , and thought hmm... is it 90 only?
7. And many many more...

Now priced at RM110,000.00 ( approximately ) you could get one
and drive around too, couldn't you??

But bear in mind , currently petrol consumption is at below for
this large MPV :

City drive = RM 0.45 per km.
Highway = RM 0.25 per km.

Damn expensive, at least my Proton Wira could still do RM 0.10
or RM 0.11 at Highway now, petrol price = RM 1.42 per litter.
Proton Wira, Man Sui Man Sui Man Man Sui !!!

I drive a Naza Ria, macam driving a tank sometimes. And the con? When my kids are fighting right at the back, I can't stop the car and turn over to give a *piak*, 'cos it is too far away for my hand to reach their faces. Overall, I have no complaints 'cos it is still the cheapest and most comfortable in that price range. I tried Hyundai and Nissan too.
